Flu Update: H1N1 Flu Vaccine
The first doses of H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine have arrived in Contra Costa and will be distributed through
previously scheduled school-based clinics. Many more doses will be available by the end of October and
will be distributed to providers throughout Contra Costa.
Contra Costa County expects to receive enough vaccine for all those who want the vaccine.
The best place to get H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine is from your health care provider.
Call ahead of time to see if they are offering either vaccine. If more H1N1 vaccine becomes available,
it may be given at CC County scheduled flu clinics

FIRST AID KIT FOR COLLEGE
A great graduation gift! The concept of the First Aid Kit for College was developed
in consultation with Lynne Alper, M.D., University Health Service, U.C. Berkeley.
It can be used by anyone as a personal first aid kit, to be kept at home, work or in
your car. Lisa Katzki of "readycareco.com" has created the kit for Acalanes families

The Lamorinda Teen Center Initiative is now in Full Swing
A space has been identified, a foundation of brainstorming and planning has
been laid by teens and adults in cooperation, and now our communities - youth and
adults, individuals and organizations, within the "Lamorinda" valleys are being called
together to bring this cooperative effort to its culmination within the foreseeable future.
